RAV Vast - B Kurd

RAV Vast B Kurd is a scale with a Middle-Eastern origin. Unlike the majority of our ravs, this one is a 10 notes handpan. Being named after Kurdish music culture, the B Kurd recreates the tradition of dramatic and nostalgic melodies. Kurds, being exceptional bards, led a nomadic lifestyle, travelling from one village to another.

When creating B Kurd, we were inspired by Kurdish music. That is why the scale has an ethnic feel that provides melancholic and elegiac mood. The Kurds used to create long, dramatic and nostalgic songs while returning to summer pastures along mountain paths. And still, B Kurd RAV Vast is not too moody and dark. On the contrary, this steel tongue drum represents a unique balance between light and darkness.

The B Kurd is a scale designed for players with an advanced level of skills. Nevertheless, if you are a beginner who feels a strong connection with this scale and are ready to dive into learning the techniques, you can take the B Kurd. Of course, it will be a little bit more challenging than the D Major or B RUS scales, but at the same time, it will become your strong motivation for self-growth and your skills’ development.
