RAV Vast - Mallets
The bigger felt top is the softest one and produces a warm and very delicate sound. The smaller felt top is a little bit harder and provides a more sonorous sound. The rubber top, which is the hardest, creates a strong percussive sound. The rubber top has the closest sound to your fingers but with a more clear sound of the actual strike. The felt top has the softest touch and gives 100% of the note itself without the sound of a strike, while the smaller felt top is something between these two mallets. The RAV Mallets make the RAV Vast sound less percussively and make the instrument voice clearer, sonorous and bell-alike. Play two similar mallets or experiment with using 2 different tops at a time.
The RAV Mallets will be a great help for the beginners who have recently started learning to play the RAV Vast. The mallets will help you to learn the sound of each drum separately from others and create some first simple note progressions. Please note : These prices are applicable only when purchase with RAV Vast. If you would like to place an order for just this product, contact us here.
The mallets come in a hard case that will keep your mallets easy to store and transport.
Rav Vast, Phoenix Handpan Oil, Hard Case, Soft Case, and Stand
RAV was invented by a Russian engineer, Andrey Remyannikov in 2013, inspired by handpans, and turned out to become inimitable among other similar instruments. After months of daily work, several broken metal barrels and 100 rejected forms of ‘tongue’ (note) - Andrey’s first prototype was born. 100% hand-crafted, it was a homage to the Hang, but with a different look and totally unique sound.
He adopted the name RAV after handpan forum members and the drums’ very first owners took his full name - Remyannikov Andrey Vladimirovich - and gave the instrument this nickname.
Our instrument gives an easy access to creating music to everyone. Both, beginners and professionals. Today there are more than 20 different RAV Vast scales and more than 7 RAV Pan scales are handcrafted and we're constantly working on the new ones. Each scale represents a certain mood, inspired by a certain culture or harmony
